Codec help

Running 64 bit XP and having probs playing media files.Mainly Xvid avi etc.Tried a few different codecs but still getting a black screen!

Any ideas?

For Media Centre in X64 you need 64bit codecs and for windows media player you need 32 bit codecs. You can find both packs here .

I've no problems running AVI's in x64 XP using the K-Lite Codec Pack and Media Player Classic.

A older avi codec was hidden in a sub folder and was causing the problems.Reinstalled x64 [needed to anyway tbh] and its working fine with the k lite package

ffdshow not work in vista64? better than klite bloatware, that's probably why you borfed it in the first place.
