Hi All what is the best codec pack to use with Vista 32x ? i,ve heard K-Lite is good and Vistacodecs_v461 any views thxs

Vista codec pack. It's basically ffdshow with a load of other codecs included so you'll be able to play pretty much anything in Windows Media Player: http://shark007.net/vistacodecpackage.html

It also has x64 components that you can download if you ever need a codec pack for Vista 64.

I installed K-Lite on here, its v good. It installs media player classic which I prefer and so far its ran everything I've thrown at it.

i've found CCCP to be the best of the bunch.

CCCP is the best. Its all you need to run .mkv files as well if you are struggling to play them. Make sure you configure it at the start of the installation. Theres a few things in there I didn't want it to try and do

Using CCCP on Vista64 and XP, so I'd imagine it should be fine on Vista32 too.

The code pack I linked to above is basically ffdshow with a few extra codecs added and some pre-tweaked settings as bledd said
