Which is the best one? I have some files that wont play on windows media player

VLC will play just about anything, try that.

Agreed, its the best. If you have x64, make sure you get the 64 bit tool as well, so you can use Media Centre.

Hey bledd, are you sure that the actual Codec Pack is illegal? I know the program that you are talking about which is illegal but I am pretty sure the codec pack is absolutely fine and hasn’t actually got anything to do with the other program. If it is illegal, I will happily remove it from my post.

it's largely overlooked, but it's this part.. MPEG-1 / MPEG-2 (Cyberlink) [version 6.0.0.3402]

-comes from PowerDVD, plus it's a bit messier than VCP, as Turophobic said -make sure you get the 64bit Components too if running Vista 64bit, for media centre usage

sorry to hijack... any recommendations for playing 1080p, I already have vlc and cccp but they run a bit slow

, just wondering if their was a faster player about?
