When i try to play certain videos such as off break.com etc and some films all i get is audio and a grey screen

Ive istalled various codec packs all claiming to be all the required codecs but still no videos ????????

Has anyone else had this problem???? if so how did you fix it????

Cheers

i have mate.

I'll try that codec pack but cant see it working as i have installed gordian knot etc....and it doesnt work ??? GRRRrrr

Just installed that codec pack and still grey screen of crapness.

I have no idea whats causing it and its really annoying ive been trying to fix it for about a week now

Sometimes i get this, all i have to do is minimize and then maximize the window and that sorts it. Try that, it sounds simple but could work.

What if its not a .avi though :S

This problem is really starting to **** me off now reinstall may fix it i spose but i cba ! :D

Hi think my mate had this. It was nothing to do with the avi. It was in his graphics card settings (an nvidia card) to do with colour and overlay I think it got messed up randomly and meant that anything (video wise) was just grey.

Maybe try having a look round your graphics card settings.

yeha i think your right. ive rolled back my drivers and i got some kind of picture but it didnt refresh properly so you could only watch the vids if you moved the window around :S

I have an ATI 9600 TX but i cant find the setting  :(

Hmm, yeh well have a hunt around. I haven't had an ATI card lately so I'm probably not the best person to ask. I expect someone will know what setting it is and where to find it.
