Coding partner for project. Does it work?

I've been working on a web project for over a year now (probably two years from when I had the initial idea!). I'm still sure it's a great idea and the site is pretty near completion. The trouble is my coding is awful and I'm struggling with the complicated stuff.

Has anyone here ever partaken in a mutually beneficial/shared project with split responsibilities? Did it work? I don't really have the cash to put into it at the moment so I'd be looking at more of a split of future profits etc. I know this sounds like a proper scam but hopefully people here know I'm no dvdbunny ;). I already own/run 4 businesses and I'm just wanting to add to the collection.

The coding isn't complicated at all so I wouldn't be needing someone with a mass of experience and skill, and most of the functions are just your basic login, account management, submitting data securely etc. The bit I get stuck on is when it comes to integrating that with ecommerce and payments in which I have zero experience in.

I guess the questions I'm asking are threefold:

- Does a mutual project with split profit share work (with proper contracts and agreements etc of course)?
- How does one find someone who would be interested in such a side project?
- Is anyone here vaguely interested or know anyone that would be?

I'll take that as a no, they don't work :p.

Where would I source someone from for paid work for this kind of project? I know people here generally don't rave about freelancer websites but would it work for this kind of thing?

Yeah it's not so much like that in as much as once the site is complete then 95% of the work will be complete for the coder leaving just basic updates and fixes etc.
