Hello,

I'm worried I might have to bin my coffee machine. (Lavazaa A modo mio)

I've tried descaler solution and also Caffee Nu' cleaning capsules, and I keep on running the machine and still bits are coming out.

Long story short It's been left for a very long while and not been cleaned so mold built up evidently in the chamber, I can't seem to get it out after trying to above, I've scrubbed the nozzle area where the capsules go and it looks clean but I'm worried what might be inside it.

Any way to clean it or won't it be safe to use ever again?

Looking into getting it a service could be an option? That’s one of the options I have with mine.

Risky leaving descaler in the machine's workings but if you think it's a goner, can't hurt. Not sure if there is a bio-cleaner like bleach, as descaler is acid. Anti-growth solution might be safer.

citric acid, that you should be using, is pretty benign and friendly to metals, versus sulphuric/phosphoric which some descalers use ... there are some coffeeforum discussions.
'I forget' - the heating coils in sage barista express, have teflon I believe, which makes them inert ... so the aluminium is not exposed to acid
