Company of H..anyone else getting crash with sound loop?

I am having the same problem as many others are apperently having, can play for about 5 minutes max then it crashes wiht the sounds looping & I need to turn of the PC to restart- http://www.forumplanet.com/planetcompanyofheroes/topic.asp?fid=19918&tid=1951283&p=1

Anyone here have it or got any suggestions?

Sorry, can't help with your problem but the sound on mine starts fine and then after a few minutes it goes weird. Sounds like it's underwater or something.

I know this game is getting a lot of rave reviews but the sound bugs have put me right off.

its very annoying...cant even make it past 1 tutorial stage without it crashing.

I know its a crap suggestion, have you tried running the CPU at stock see if it still crashes??

People always suggest it to me if i have problems with games.

It only ever fixed one problem with the FPS Day of Defeat source.

Worth a try only takes 30 seconds.

did it a couple of times on mine, i switched overdrive off and disabled VPU recover... seemed to do the trick

Try turning down your sound hardware acceleration - often works for me when I've had issues in the past.

You can also look at updating your drivers - video included - I've had problems I thought were sound-related before with the machine hanging and looping the same noise over and over, but it was due to video crashing the entire machine.

If that doesn't work, try fiddling with your video and audiio settings and reduce them as far as you can.

More than likely your GPU is overheating, thats what the culrpit was when i was playing CS:S, if you look im sure you'll find the GPU heatsink fins and fan are clogged up with dust/dirt. while your at it give your processor HSF a quick clean too.

I had a problem with the demo, not got the full game yet, actualy got this problem on the DoW demo too :confused:

Every time I exit the game to go back to windows it does'nt put me back on the desktop, instead I get a full black screen with just the windows cursor.
Very annoying as only was I seem to fix it is by a restart, which obviouly messes up anything else I was running in the background, like my sell shops :mad:

Will take a look, but going to try disabling the sound card first. Dont get any crashes in other games & what with all the others having the same problem points to some error in coh.
