Opposing Fronts Beta
The Opposing Fronts Beta is set to launch on July 26th for FilePlanet subscribers and August 7th for IGN registered users.

"Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts is the next chapter in the critically acclaimed Company of Heroes series. Players take command of the German Panzer Elite as they struggle against the might of Operation Market Garden, or lead the British 2nd Army in the vicious battle for Caen, France. This standalone title features two unique armies with full length campaigns, new multiplayer modes, Microsoft DirectX® 10 support, mission persistence, improved vehicle and soldier AI, enhanced physics, and a dynamic weather system. Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts is fully compatible with Company of Heroes, allowing players to wage war with four unique armies."

Will this be a stand alone beta? Or will I need the original game to try do you think?.

AFAIK although it is being touted as an expansion this game will be stand alone. However you will not be able to go either of the factions from the original COH game if you dont own it, but will be able to play against them in multiplayer. :cool:

Hmm my history must be a little rusty, It was considered by most to be a total disaster as they completly underestimated what forces the germans had in holland.

Market Garden was in BF1942 i think, great level!
