Anybody used one?

I've got around 20kgs of coppers to change up and really cannot be bothered with the rigmarole of taking it into Abbey who'll only accept five bags at a time these days.

So long as they're fairly accurate I'm happy to pay the 8.9% (I'll take the silvers into the bank I think  ) for it to count my copper and give me the cash.

Yeah in my student days I had a large whiskey bottle full of coppers, 5p's and 10p's.

I put them in probably the most flimsy carrier bag known to man and proceeded to walk 15 minutes with a mate to Sainsburys.

Crossed a main road in the rain, bag split at the other side. ****.

The guys above are right in saying you can use the voucher in the store, or take it to the customer service desk and exchange it for cash.

Only way around it is either small amounts at the bank, or Morrison's self service tills don't charge a premium for sorting.

Tesco was 8.9% and I just asked for the cash at Customer Services

I did this recently at a coinstar in Tescos as well and it was 8.9%. I was changing up about 50 quids worth of coins so it was worth doing it compared with the hassle of bagging it all up and taking it into a bank (particularly as I didn't have whole pounds worth of some coins)

I got a voucher which I took to the till and swapped it for the notes.

Make sure you don't push the button which says "donate my change to charity" :D

Put a whole load of coppers in one at Sainsburies and paid the 8.9%, came out with about £30. :D

I've used one a couple of times. The machine used to take 10p for every pound. Reminder: stick the coins in and start screaming I WON.

You will get a lot of people looking at you with a WTF face lol.

Seems to be a complete rip off to me, but plenty of people seem to be happy to use them.

Unbelievable that Abbey will only change 5 bags at a time. HSBC will do more than that if you fancy a trip to the bank instead. I don't think you need to have an account to change money; you just need to bag it up.

I really should take my tub of change to one of these machines...

bag them up and take them to a amusement arcade as they weigh them and dont charge a penny for doing this.

i used to use coin star but a quick trip to my local amusement arcade saved me loads of money in the long run.

just as long as you have one close by that is.
