I have a new DS3P rev 3.3 F5 BIOS board and a E4300.

I have the cold boot issue where it drops all overclocks until its warm.
Can I ask for an RMA with this issue? Does anyone have any proper fixes for this. I have searched high and low but can't find anything solid. Have I just got a duff board?

Could it be a RAM issue? Help please as its driving me nuts.

Had exactly the same problem with my DS3, unfortunately never found a fix for it, and as far as I remember RMA will only work if the board doesn't work at stock speeds

If you search the net, you will find plenty of DS3 owners with this issue, its the board deciding your overclock is unstable, can be caused by not enough voltage on the ram as the boards default volts are only 1.8, you need to check your rams requirements and adjust accordingly.

If you have an X-Fi sound card, this can also cause the issue, but you would also find its not always detect properly in windows, some have reported that moving the card to the lower PCI slot solved this issue.

The cpu power saving option underclocks the CPU at low loads to save power.

Make sure in bios that the CPU C1E Enhanced Halt State and the EIST option are turned off if your overclocking but your get higher idle temps.

Thanks for the replies. I will try the RAM voltage as that makes sense. I have ordered some better quality RAM to rule that out of the equation.

The power supply is a new 600W OCZ. So it should be okay. Other than that I am thinking this boards a dud...

I'm getting fed up spending my life in its BIOS.
