Hi guys, I'm attempting an overclock on my sig setup. I'm only a noob when it comes to these things and was wondering what would cause the motherboard to long beep short beep when booting from cold. I got my cpu to 3.8ghz stable so I upped the HT/NB to 2.4Ghz, Ran prime 95 for an hour all seemed ok. My next step I upped the ram to 1600mhz which it is rated for and manually copied the SPD settings of the ram for 1300mhz and applied the timings to 1600mhz which is roughly what the ram timings are ment to run at for 1600mhz (cl9). I further tested this for an hour and played BFBC2 fine.
The Ram is currently set to 1.65v and is rated @1.6v, I have currently got some extra power to NB, CPU memory voltage and Cpu voltage. but not sure what voltage to up to fix cold booting. If i reset the pc it beeps once and is fine, I dont know if this is maybe CPU NB VID or ram voltage which is already 0.050v over.
any help much appreciated.
