Morning all
On Tuesday I made the swap to Core 2 Duo. Specs as follows
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 @ 3.00GHz 1.275V (ORTHOS Blend Stable)
DFI LanParty ICFX3200T2R/G RD600
1GB GeIL PC2-6400C4 Ultra Memory
GeForce 7300GT @ 550core/800mem (gddr2 )
All seems to run well and I've noticed a reasonable performance boost from my old Ultra-D/[email protected]/CorsairXMS setup. My only problem is after shutting my system down, the PC will not boot properly the next time I start it up. The following occurs.
1) Gets past BIOS Splashscreen but the screen then goes black with a little cursor blinking on the top left and hangs there, instead of going through to the list of IRQ's and the whole CMOS Backup malarky. At this point I power the PC down, power it back up and it boots up fine into windows with the setup overclock and it's as solid as a rock as far as stability goes
OR
2) Gets past BIOS Splashscreen and throws up a CMOS Checksum Error. At this point I don't have much choice but to head into BIOS and apply my overclock profile from CMOS Reloaded. Again after saving settings, it boots into windows fine and as solid as a rock as far as stability goes.
---
This is the first time I've experienced this but I've heard of it happening before. I assume this is a Cold Booting Issue?
This only seems to occur with FSB's upwards of 400. I've tried playing with the NB and SB Volts in BIOS but that does nothing for it. This occurs both with the BIOS, the board shipped with 21/2/2007 (I think) and the Beta BIOS that I'm running now which is dated 26/4/2007.
This is a fantastic Motherboard other that this boot issue. I would just like to know if there are any possible fixes for this or whether it's something I'm just going to have to live with?
thanks very much
