My Phenom II X3 720 BE is starting to play up on cold boots, never did this before, but I get application crashes and images get distorted as does sound which makes a horrible scratching noise until I restart.
Idle from cold boot is 18'c or so says the motherboard, idle after some use (web, email etc) is around 22-24'c, case ambient is 22'c.
The CPU was overclocked to 3.9GHz which I dropped to 3.7GHz in the summer, recently I dropped it to 3.6 and then 3.4 to try and stop this problem but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
No hard reboots, just apps crashing to desktop.
Seems ok once it's all warmed up after say 20 minutes? In all my years I've never experienced this, it's as if a power regulator on the mobo is on it's way out or similar?
