Cold calling question, is this illegal?

My boiler has an issue so I called the manufacturer and asked for advice. I did not give any phone number to them.

I'm now getting daily cold calls about boiler government replacement schemes, despite signing up with the TPS years ago.

Is it illegal for them to use their caller ID to get my number, then sell it to cold callers?

Do you have proof they gave yer number away?

Obviously not, but I've had virtually zero cold calls for months, I then call one company about a boiler and I start getting boiler replacement cold calls the next day.

Coincidence?
