i somehow managed to knock one of my cold cathodes into some water and the inside got filled up a bit i shook the water out but do u think it will still work or should i lob it ?

or just let it dry out ?

let it dry completely - should be fine aslong as it wasn't switched on at the time of soaking.

Can i ask how on earth you managed to get it soaked lol
and like the other posters have siad, make sure its completly dry before you even think of using it, but for the sake of £6 i would jsut throw it in the bin, connecting that could damnage something inside your comp, ie psu, or worse.

its not connected to my comp just some old crappy psu and its for my fish tank i put it in the hood to make it blue at night and it fell in !

i'll leave it for a while till its comletely dry !

£6 isn't the price of chips and tbh why spend money when you don't have to ?

also i only got today !

Well i dont care what anyone says, once it has hit water it will never be the same, i bet the colour will be a lot diff, not to mention, water and electrics dont mix, i would much rather bin it. and aquatic ones are diff, heating is diff, so why use a pc one lol. i know this as i also used to keep fish.

I must agree also, water and leccy dont mix at all, best of binning it and buying a new one as you could be putting your components in danger if it was to catch alight. Then i'll be waiting for a thread named "my cold cathode Blew my pc up :(".

:p

loads of people use cold cathodes it has nothing to do with anything in the tank but just make it looks nice at night !

i will buy another one but just not yet i guess !

I think you will find cathodes that are for pcs and the quatic ones are totaly different, ie quatic ones give off totaly differnt light, brightness and density as well, i sugest you look it up, unless you want your fish to have eyes like they japenese bug eye fish. lol
