Cold Cathodes on the blink

Hi all.
I have recently bought four UV cold cathode tubes and they started out fantastically bright. Howver 4 weeks in and 2 of them have seemed to have lost luminance - they are now a muddy purple colour with the tips getting close to the expected brightness. The other two are fine (note - each are paired on the inverters, so one is now bright and one dim on each.

I've tried swapping to a different inverter on the the dodgy tubes but there is no joy. Flciking or wiggling the connection has not helped much either.
Is there a way to restore them to former glory?

Replace them with LED strips, last forever and no dodgy inverters to worry about

kind of defeats the object of using cathodes in the first place.

old technology now, replace with newer and better tech, ie LEDs

They're garbage, use LED's and I know I've had a fair few in my time.
