Winter is by far my favourite season, I don't think I can cope with another humid summer like last year's.

The good thing about Winter is that when it's cold, you can wrap up, put the heating on and get warm. If it's really hot in the summer - especially if you live in a house without air conditioning like many of the Victorian and Edwardian ones - you can't escape from the heat.

Cold weather is commonplace here every winter yet our country, especially the south of England always seems to fail to cope adequately. Yet poorer countries like Poland and Russia cope with FAR worse temperatures. It is pathetic.

That's because they're used to it, we're not. It hardly ever snows in London so it's not surprising that things go a bit funky when it does.

For instance, in parts of Russia the drivers have learned how to cope with driving on ice. If it got really icy for days in the UK it wouldn't be reasonable to say, "they drive on ice in Russia, why can't we??!"
