Evening folks,

I recently installed ColdFusion MX 7 Developer Edition on my computer, with no problems at all. I fooled around with it for a while, creating a few variables, arrays etc ... and just finding my ground with it. After about 30mins, CFML pages just stopped loading and I noticed my CPU was at 100% usage. After looking in my processes, a ColdFusion file called Jrun.exe was 100% of my CPU. I restarted, hoping that'd solve the problem, but it didn't. Soon as Windows lauched Jrun.exe started up and was taking up 100% of the CPU.

So I uninstalled ColdFusion, and went ahead and reinstalled it. Soon as the reinstall was finished, Jrun.exe started and straight away was using 100% CPU. Everytime I reinstall it, Jrun.exe will just start right back up again and take up 100% CPU.

I've done a bit of reading, and it says Jrun.exe is used when querying a database and it'll use all available resources until it finishes the query. The problem is, I never even queried a database. Like I said, all I was using were varibables and arrays.

Has anyone got any ideas what the heck is going on?

How much memory is Jrun.exe using up? There is a glitched by one of MS's recent patches that mean any application over 512mb in size can result in the program not working properly. A couple of my works clients have had this issue on their server, and the only way to fix it (currently) is to uninstall the hotfix. The larger the the java app on startup the more likely it is to crash, helpfully :(

edit: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924054 I think thats the one I'm trying to remember.
