Comes off but still holds on to the throttle to keep the engine running so he can remount

He was holding onto the left bar, the throttle's on the right and he lets go of it almost immediately. He does keep hold of the clutch though.

Besides, just keeping the throttle on wouldn't keep the engine running, if the wheel was stopped it just would have stalled the motor, and if the wheel wasn't stopped the engine probably wouldn't stall if you let go of the throttle and there was no resistance on he wheel, the wheel would spin and it'd tick over...

That was a good result for Toseland - did you see the state of him when he came into the garage after the race? he looked half dead and could barely remove his helmet! Cant be easy at the best of times riding a GP bike in that heat, but when you're suffering with bronchitis and can hardly breath it was pretty heroic stuff to fight the way he did for that 6th place.

Adrenaline really is the best pain killer. :)
