Yesterday morning I Managed to apply some Collinite 476s wax to the car properly and I'm impressed with the results.

Put some on (far too much) three weeks ago and it was still on the car yesterday, really durable stuff compared to Harly wax.

Here are the results, taken this afternoon after 70 miles on the motorway and country lanes:

I'm finding dirt isn't sticking to the car much, highly recommended stuff!

Collinite is the daddy for winter wax and durability. Doesn't give a good deep shine like some of the more exotic waxes, but then again, they only last a few weeks (hence why they are better in the summer).

What I find good with Collinite is to take my alloys off when I can, clean them, then wax them with the Collinite. It means brake dust and road dirt and salt doesn't stick half as bad and makes cleaning them so much easier. ;)

Collinite 476s is awesome wax that seems to last forever (well relatively speaking).

Gave the current car a coating of it the first weekend I had it to afford some protection against the elements. Highly recommend this stuff.

When I have the time, I'll apply two coats of the stuff (24hrs apart) and
see how long it lasts :)

So now if you give it a quick wash over with just a sponge and water will the dirt be removed and the wax remain on the surface?

That's what I've found. The other day a bird dumped a load on the bonnet, got a wet piece of kitchen towel and it just slid off.

Interesting, other online reviews seem to say its very long lasting, which is good as i couldnt see myself wanting to wax the car every week!

However the tin looks rather small, how much did you use to cover your whole car with? And did you hand buff it on/off or use the lazy mans option of a powered polisher :D

476 is very long lasting. Has to be applied by hand imo, heat from your hands warms it up, melts the wax down and makes it easier to apply. I use my bear hands to apply paste waxes, applicator pad for liquid waxes.

CG 50/50 or Collinite 915 will give a slightly better (imo) shine, but for durability you can't beat 476s, lasts for a good 2-3 months without any top up.

Personally I find a dedicated wheel sealant much better, although Collinite 476 is brilliant on paint work, I feel it's not been designed to deal with the heat alloys take. I've been using Poorboys Wheel Sealant recently, very impressed with the results.

That's the idea, although you need to make sure you use a good wash solution that won't strip the wax off and please don't use a sponge  Get yourself a decent wool washmit instead :)

The tin would be good for a few complete applications and so would easily last you a year.

Yours is the only shiny red Integra I have ever seen, the rest look like they've been parked in an orchard for 10 years - so that wax must be good :D

It would be interesting to see how the wax lasts in the wet weather, mine gets so bloody dirty, admittedly I do loads of miles but it gets really infuriating having a mega dirty car and having to loads of work getting it look again!

So how much is a tub of this stuff then?

Edit it aint too dear at £15.99, do you reckon i could just clay bar my car and then just slap this on top? or will i have to polish aswell? the car is only 6 months old, but i did clay it when i got it, and it has had a coat of Autoglym super resin and extra gloss in that time, but that doesnt last long enough.

i would agree with everything there but would change the p21s wax to Collinite #915 Marque D'Elegance Premium Auto Wax

longer lasting then the p21s and deeper look to it in my eyes

These are awsome, I bought a couple and they are loads better than the megs ones.

Ah good to know, cheers. I've got two down on the list. One for the car and another for around the sills, arches, etc. They do look nice and plush. :D

The secret is not really down to the wax, its more the polishing and prepping stage to get a good starting point, although the wax will give it a bit extra 'zing'.

The tin of collinite is quite small but then again as long as you dont slap it on like buttering bread itll last a long time. Thin is the key here.
