Colonic Irrigation

but on a serious note - if anyone was to ever do that they'd risk doing some serious long term damage to themselves, you don't mess around with the gut, changed in the balance of bacteria can cause some nasty conditions

Depends on the depth. A deep clean (till the water runs clear) should only be done when necessary - like when you have diarrhoea but need to go to work - because of bacteria imbalance, a mild clean (rectum only) can be done every day.

Recently that's been recalculated, we're more at 1:1 with bacteria.

And I have second hand experience of "Agent Picolax", my son had to have a colostomy reversal when he was 9 months old. It's evil stuff!

I am given to understand that a "Natural" alternative is California Syrup of Figs.

Do not be deceived by its touchy feely name and the fact that it comes from health food shops!

Drink a whole bottle of it and the World will fall out of your Bottom!

Princess Diana popularised this back in the '90s but the arse has pretty much fallen out of it now.

Seriously, it's not pleasant watching a 9 month old child sat in a hospital cot, wearing a nappy over a nappy with liquid effluvia emanating from every lower orifice, bear in mind he had a colostomy bag as well.

Didn't phase him either, he sat there happy as the proverbial pig in muck, drinking a bottle of apple juice.
