Hello can anybody help.
I put a new Graphis card into my pc and when I play some games colour dots appear, this does not happen all the time I can restart a game and they are not there the next time. (Is the Graphics card faulty?)

My PC Spec is
CPU = Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 2.40GHz (1066FSB)
Memory = 2GB OCZ DDR2 8500 1066MHz
MotherBoard = Abit AW9D-MAX Intel 975X
Graphics = PCI-E Nvidia Gainward Bliss 7900GTX 512MB
Dual PSU 2x550Watt
WD36GB 10000 + Max250GB 7200

Sorry I dont have any screen shots, however I did run a few benchmarks and the seemed to fail on the pixel shader test.

Can this be fixed with software, or is this the hardware (Graphics card) at fault and do I need to return it.

Thanks

sorry i should have looked at your first thread more closely.
you have a
Graphics = PCI-E Nvidia Gainward Bliss 7900GTX 512MB

the 7900 series is known for its masive failure rate so i would say that the card is borked and needs to be returned.

Thanks Cyber-Mav, I just run 3DMark03 and my PC crashed on the Pixel shader test.

Where would I get info on this cards faults

Cheers

download a program called ATi tool, don;t worry it will work on your card fine, its used as an artifact tester and it will tell you if the car is busted, it will also tell you the card temps so you can see if the artifacts show up at a certain temp or if there are there to begin with.
