Didn't buy a Spyder 3 in the end, because the two in the title tickled my interest.

Budget is around £125, lower the better obviously.

Needs to be able to do W-CCFL and W-LED screens, and be able to do dual screen calibration on OS X.

Next is it needs to have a step in the calibration process to enable you do use the OSD colour adjustments.

So OcUK, recommend!

I have the i1 display pro and it is excellent. I don't know about` the Colormunki but the i1 is definitely better than the Spyders

To add to the above, this opinion is based from reading as any online reviews as possible over a 2 months period, it was fairly unanimous.

out of interest whats supposed to be bad on the spyder? cant say ive ever had any bother with my 3 pro on dual screens

interesting, my DSCL prints are always spot on

I'm sure it calibrates very well and good enough for 99% of people. As I said, I just spent some time looking at review a few years ago and the i1 nearly always came out a little better and the price difference here was negligible.

The x1 is the same hardware used by the very expensive gretag macbeth professional systems

I wouldn't worry.

The CM display is almost identical to the i1 Display Pro, just measurement speed is 5x slower, which I doubt is an issue..

The CM downsides are mainly in the software support, 3rd party software is very unlikely to support it( marketing decision to lock it down), however the i1 Dispaly Pro is already getting 3rd party support, e.g. CalMAN, but unless you need Home Cinema calibration, and you only want good monitor Cal, the CM Display would probably be the perfect price/accuracy. If you read around, the reviews of the CM Display all indicate its as accurate and repeatable as the i1 for monitor Cal purposes.

I was asking the same question, started looking at the Spyder, realised the CM / i1 new models where getting excellent reviews, and ordered the i1 Display Pro today, just because I have a Home Cinema projector and will eventually get Chromapure to Cal that properly, which is on the verge of supporting the i1 DP.
