Has anyone heard of these people colorworks/colourworks. they are like chipsaway and just as shockingly crap. My mini which is in to have its front and rear bumpers addressed again by the dealer have again failed a decent finish and as such the car will now have the front and rear bumpers reprayed by BMW along with the bonnet which has a pimple by some idiot of colorworks shutting something underneath. Bad news will not get my car back until a week saturday because I cannot get up there mid week to inspect the car. But at least I will get a loaner for the weekend again. 2 weeks out of 4 they will have had it! :D

On a side note should I get them to stripe the bonnet while its in, and any idea how much this costs?

I've only ever heard good things about chipsaway with regard to fixing paint problems.. wouldn't use them for dents etc though.

As these places are all franchised, its all down to how good your local one is..I've heard good and bad stories for chipsaway so would probably like to see some prior work and references (although they're not exactly going to give references of bad work are they).

I'm sorry to hear you've had such a bad experience though..did the guy actually leave something under the bonnet and attempt to shut it? Thats astonishingly poor. Did they admit to it?

I would definitley go for the bonnet stripe as I think they look great, but of course it's all down to personal preference. I don't think it costs much as it's just a vinyl graphic rather than a proper paint job (iirc).

I have not had any dealings with them directly its who the dealer uses. I purchased my MNin 3 weeks ago and it got dropped off with a bit of work not having been done. I was advised to bring it in, and this is where Colorworks have come into it the guys at Mini use to touch up body work. The first time they dropped the car back saying they had not done all the work because they had run out of paint. I dropped it back in and this is when my girlfriend noticed that the passenger side mirror had been damaged with a huge scrape down it. Dealer agreed to replace then did a checksheet. I was then advised that the mirror cover would not be in for the weekend and told to pick up the car in the interim. Only when I came in I then noticed this pimple (i should have taken a picture it was so obvious) Fuming I called the sales manager out who denied at first to which I said its happened from behind the bonnet I have not opened it "was it on the check sheet" he then backed down said that it would then need have the whole bonnet repainted. A result because now the original chip on the bonnet will be totally repaired. But the dealer said both bumpers would still be re attempted by colorworks. I then get a call last night (voice mail) saying they have done the front and rear bumpers, and it is not upto standard and definately wont be upto mine. So they have booked to have them reprayed along with the bonnet at the body shop.

Bloody palava, so now I wont get it back for the weekend so it it will be two weeks till it back because I dont trust them dropping it off mid week so will have to wait until week saturday so I can inspect it for any more damager which was not on the check sheet.

I would like to get it stripped but dont want the "special price" treatment to recoop any costs.
