I've been trying to connect a new HTPC I've built to a 37" LCD TV (JVC made) but am having some problems with noticable colour banding. I've used the DVI > HDMI connection since VGA on the TV only supports up to 1024 x 768 sadly, and not the full 1366 x 768.

I've installed the latest drivers for the onboard graphics card which is an NVidia GeForec 6150 (Asus A8N-VM CSM motherboard) but that hasn't helped clear it up. I'm sure it's some issue with using DVI, but does anyone know any good ways to help reduce this? I've not had chance to have a real fiddle with it all yet, but thought i'd ask here first :)

cheers

Is it just with video material or with everything (wallpapers etc)?
If the first and you are using overlay for rendering try switching to VMR9 instead.
If the 2nd check that your colour correction settings are all at the default on your computer, as it's a digital signal if they are altered there and by the display you could get banding.

Just a couple of ideas, good luck fixing it.

it's on everything. For instance i can see it clearly on the blue background of the Media Centre application....i've not changed any graphics settings really, it's certainly weird. Thanks for the input :)
