Colour calibration devices

Looking to get a Spyder4pro also but are there any others that are better is would this be a good choice?

Monitor is 23" LED Monitor S23A750D granted not IPS quality but hoping I can improve my colours.

I want to sell prints at some point but need to improve in this area!

Maybe take a look at the X-Rite ColorMunki range, and if you can afford it a monitor & printer one.
