First time putting together a system and really trying to keep the colour scheme.
At first I was going for an all white design. White and black based on the Asus X99. But I was having problems finding parts that fit my needs and kept to the colour scheme (Red and Blue seems a popular colour for RAM, especially red). White RAM is out. Silver and black was the best I could manage and that was at the top end of the price bracket for DDR4....
Anyway in the end I went for an MSI board which let me colour (and brand) coordinate with 2 MSI 970s. So red and black is the new theme. In a white case. I'm going for a red, black and white theme. Kinda Harley Quinn.... (Oh! Great I have a new PC name....I like to name things, shush).
I managed to easily get RED ram. Red braided cables. Sadly I couldn't find a white PSU which would have looked better from the rear. Except for the £170+ Seasonic ones which are just, well, totally overkill for my system.
Now the case I bought is an NZXT H440. Amazing case. Cable management is first class. But one thing that's a problem is that the SSDs are mounted above the PSU in front of the windows. So on display. That's actually great since you want your hardware on show..... Except when you are trying to find black and red SSDs. I found two. One woefully out of date from 2012 (Corsair, it was perfect design wise, full red cover) and one at the top end of the price bracket. 850 Pro. The cheaper & decent ones are blue and every colour except black and red lol.
So what I have learned..... Style does not come cheap. Even for PCs XD but mine come out looking quite well dressed in the end. Oh I also learned that they need to make RAM in more colour ranges!
