Random post but ah well :p

Lots of my mates like to have colour coordinated systems and won't buy anything that doesn't go with their red and black system or whatever. And they dont care if somethings a better deal they will go for the red/black/green component. So I was wondering how much does Colour Coordination matter to you if at all?

Its nice to have things looking neat and thought about, but I dont think I would compromise performance for it.

Colour did put me off Gigabyte boards for a while, now its the unreliability ;p

yeah Gigabyte have some nasty colours on their boards. Are they unreliable? I'll have to make another thread about that vs Asus...

haha, I have had pretty bad luck with their boards - most people are very very happy.
Ive had 4/4 fail on me.

Asus have some pretty nasty colours too.

I have to say i do like co-ordination. To the extent that i've covered any exposed wiring with black insulating tape including the orange 750w corsair tx logo, changed my sata cables for blue ones even though you can hardly see them and am currently holding out with my 4870 for a while as it has a blue pcb ;) so a bit of a blue/black theme going on. Very sad i know.... probably changing to a 5850 soon though so i'll end up with a bit of red in there  I honestly don't know why i've still got a gf sometimes.

Heh, I'm out of luck:

Red PCB mobo (MSI)
Black CPU waterblock
green/pink liquid (greenish in tubes, pink when in larger quantities like the pump/res)
old, silver aluminum case
acryl/plastic graphics card block
blue PCB on graphics card
blue RAM sticks
black PSU
skin colored fan (guess what brand heh)

Well if you want a 5850 there is the Sapphire Toxic Edition which is kinda silver and blue. Not sure about the pcb though just the cooler. Sounds like you're really into coordination then! :P

Damn i hate the look of those noctua fans. Wish they would make them a nicer colour seeing as they are pretty good

edit: Nocky i found that 5850 and it does have a blue pcb :D

you beat me to it

I am currently trying to source a Bloodrage mobo as I've just got my case powder coated inside in red with black accents, and my current UD5 board is going to look silly because it has that horrid blue color scheme!

Think I'm gonna hold off buying a new mobo as the Asus Rampage III Extreme will be released soon and that will fit perfectly with my new build!!

So, in answer to your question, colour co-ordination is pretty important for me on my new build, however it's not really something I would have worried about before.

But this time I've pumped quite a lot of £££ into this system so I want it to look really nice as well as being a high performance PC.

So you like the Red and Black scheme? Didn't know about the R3E before. Maybe the R2E will come down in price when it's released so I can get it for my build instead of a Gigabyte :D

I look at my screen when using the computer so I'm not too fussed about colour coordination inside the case. Saying that, I wouldn't want the case itself to be an eyesore :P.

My mate uses red/black too, seems kinda of stupid to me. (How can he sleep with all those LED fans)

Ah well, I let him have the Phobya red LED fan that I got for free with my WC bundle. Glad I got rid of the damn thing, annoying and loud.

Some people are dedicated enough to their color scheme that they buy their PSUs just so they have the correct color sticker. ;)

Wow that seems quite extreme... I was thinking about going for LED's but I'm getting the Antec 1200 which has a load on already. I'll probs change them for some Apaches or something. I can't see the point in a colour scheme when I'm not going to be staring at the inside of my case for hours on end.
