Hi there.

I bought a cheapo TFT monitor (Vusys HD19A) a while back from somewhere else but never used it much as I have been doing everything on my spangly new 2405FPW.

Due to having a glut of PCs, I am having a bit of a re-shuffle and the 2405 will be used solely for my multimedia PC. I am building a gaming rig and was going to get a VP930 to use with that.

I intend using the Vusys for my internet/e-mail/download machine but the colours look dull and "washed out" I have tried adjusting the monitor and the graphics but can't get it to look any better (graphics card is an X300 SE - 128Mb).
Is there something I'm not doing right or is this just a really crap monitor? If so can someone recommend a half decent, cheap monitor to replace it?

Stan :)

give this calibration tool a try as might help you. Could just be the TFT is a bit poor, could maybe try turning up digital vibrance or something on the graphics card to boost colours in that way. Make sure it's calibrated ok first though. Some good and cheap monitors to consider would be the Samsung 913N, AG Neovo F419 (both 19") and Neovo F417 (17") all very good and well priced. Can get cheaper models but might not save much more...

I've already used the calibration wizard to no avail.

My card doesn't appear to have digital vibrance.

I have tried the monitor with the other machine and it's just as bad so it looks like it's a crap monitor - more expense

Ah well, I can still use this one upstairs to keep an eye on the folding farm, I have an old CRT for that just now so I can create a bit of space by replacing it with this.

Thanks for trying. I will have a look at those monitors.

Edit: Liking the look of the Samsung - not bad for less than £200 - nice one.

C'est la vie.

Stan :)

fanastic monitor as well Stan the 913N. Bargain price and one of the best and most well established panels in the market at the moment :)
