Looking at getting Acova White 4 Column Radiator (H)600 mm (W)1226 mm, 7079 BTU

She's a hefty 52kg. It's only for the hallway as a functional item, the current rad is tiny and it's cold in there.

Problem is plasterboard then solid wall. It'll need feet due to the length but the feet Acova have are crap. What could I buy, make as an option.

Also what valves would be nice too get?

Thanks

Pete

Not sure how manny fittings it comes with. I'll grab one tomorrow perhaps.

Think the wall is dot and dab. Easy way too check?

The dry line pro looks amazing.

£126 bargain.

I found these as well as the stock fittings are crap. Chatting with these guys they suggest I use a total of 6

Current pipe work is the HEP2O stuff, thinking of using some chromed copper pipe to make new runs that you'll see from the valves along the bottom then up the middle and back into a HEP2O coupler.

Now need too find some nice valves from Screwfix to compliment it

Don't use chromed copper in push fit fittings. The chrome is too hard for the push fit teeth to "bite" in to. You can pull the chrome pipe straight out the fitting. Or water pressure push it off creating a pretty fountain!

You can either remove the chrome from the end of the tube but this is quite time consuming and difficult to not put a flat edge on the tube. I've not used Hep2o but I know with JG Speedfit you can fit regular compression fittings using copper olives and this I'd recommend to join plastic with chromed copper tube.

I have just bought a load of column rads for the house I am doing up, I paired them with Bentley traditional TRVs, no idea if they're any good but liked the look. Have yet to install any so no photos I'm afraid. Drayton do a white and chrome (as apposed to all chrome) TRV4 for around £20 that I thought looked OK with a white column rad too.

there is no way I would mount anything heavy using those gripit fixings wether they have tested them or not!

Dryline pro I have had hit and miss results with tbh, I have a coat rack pull out of the wall and since using frame fixings (longer) it hasn't budged.

My TV was mounted using rigifix bolts, now those I would trust to mount that 50KG Rad :)

I can get 4 mounts in to the block work that's behind the dot and dab. IE 3/4 of the rad right to left will be on a solid wall fixing. The other 2 will be behind stud work. Bit of a pain.
