(com surrogate has stopped working)

Getting this message on Win Vista after i installed nero v7.5.9.0
Nero works fine, no probs burning or watching any AVI files on it.

any ideas? :confused:

If it is the message he gets, I got the same message using v7.7.5.1 so I ended up uninstalling it and the error disapeared

I had that error when I was using WMP, I suspected it might have been a codec problem of some sort. Using VLC now, so never got around to fixing it or finding the cause.

my "adopted grandparents" have got this, basically, it's due to xvid or divx files not being able to generate thumbnails properly within the shell, microsoft are aware and will get round to a fix at some point

I've read that this is also linked to DivX. If you have this installed then upgrading to the latest version should help.

It is indeed a prob with Divx codec (& maybe Nero). Click here for some more info.
