Running Windows 8.1 64. Out of the blue for the past few days I'm getting this error message popping up in a box when I open a folder which contains thumbnail images. I've Googled it and there doesn't seem to be a fix available.

Error box and associated info:-

Trying to fiddle with the DEP and add dllhost to the exclusions under the DEP but it just says 'You can not set DEP attributes in 64-bit executables'.

Any ideas folks? It's getting really annoying. :(

Are there any videos in the folder as a google of the dll file did turn up a few results, and one does suggest that it's because of an update (specifically KB2975719) but if it was that, then the error would have manifested itself after the update (that is linked to explorer.exe and not dllhost.exe, but the exception code is the same).

The folder is called 'All Pictures' and resides on my 'I' drive which is a 1TB Samsung SATA I use for storage/archiving. The contents of the folder consist of all my photos and most probably a few videos from my iPhone from over the last couple of years. So yeah, probably a couple of video files in there. I wonder if it is possible to uninstall that KB update to see if that fixes the error?

Hi Draeger,

Did you have any luck in fixing this problem?

I have the very same issue, though its every time I open the OneDrive Camera Roll folder - once I select "Close the program" a few times it's OK so I'm assuming its related to the load of thumbnails.
