Thinking about getting a combat flight sim,
options are Wings of Prey or IL2 Cliffs of Dover, think thats what its called.

Any suggestions?

If you're just starting out then I think Wings of Prey is a great title. Gorgeous graphics and hardcore enough to be satisfying, but softcore enough to be enjoyable. Cliffs of Dover may well have some fun elements or options, but it will be geared mainly towards flight sim anoraks... like me. :-)

WoP has been on sale quite often on Steam, sometimes for a giveaway price. It'll no doubt be very cheap again before too long.

Mmm... just checked Steam. At £19.99 it's too close to Cliffs to recommend it really. You might as well throw caution (and £30) to the wind and go for what ought to be a pretty impressive title.

There's a Steam demo for WoP though. It's well worth checking that out.

I am looking for something different,as much as I enjoy FPS,they can get a bit samey.
Flight sims can take a while to master so looking for something with a bit of longevity in it and these seem ideal.

Was in the same boat as you mate, normally finish top 3 when playing FPS and got bored. Played IL2 for around 20 hours so far and I still suck big style.

Is Falcon 4.0 too old to reccommend? What a game! A brilliant dynamic campaign really gets you involved, with you kitting out and flying a F16 in a fictional campaign in Korea.
Worth checking out.
