I really want to find a suitable solution to this without having to use a controller for everything. I can't use a table set in front because it would kill my back. I have been considering getting some usb extension leads and using my mouse on the seat beside me and using the keyboard on my lap. I am concerned with how it would feel after extended gaming sessions.

Now I have looked at lap desks but can't really see any suitable designs available in this country. So that's probably out. I'm interested in the razer nostromo, it seems like a better solution than a kb balanced on my lap. Any of you had experience with this peripheral? Especially with fps's (not an mmo fan). The lack of buttons would be negated somewhat because I have a Naga that I could programme.

Any suggestions would be great (maybe some pics to give me an idea) , I just want to play Borderlands 2 on my 50" Panasonic without stoopin so low as to use a controller or ending up with a spine like John Merrick. Thanks :-)

I find keyboard on lap works fine after little time getting used to it, but the mouse really needs to be on a flat smooth rigid surface

I own the Nostromo. It's a nice little device... until you get to some games.

I struggle to use the bottom row of keys on it, they just feel out of place due to the shape of the nostromo. Also, whilst playing Counter-Strike you can't use 12345 to change weapons without mapping the keys in an unnatural way (ASD on the bottom row and W on the mid row).

I do however use the Naga mouse - Which takes away the aforementioned issue. :)

If the lack of number buttons is the main problem, I'm ok with that. Are there any other issues?

It looks like it would be comfortable with it on the arm of the sofa and a suitably rigid mouse mat on the seat to my right.

^^ i was trying to find that link saw linus from nxic using that while showing of the gaming experience using 3 TV’s but for the life of me could not remember the product name.

Good link @danewesley

That phantom board looked promising, but I want to still be able to use my own mouse. Shame because the design is clever, having the keyboard raised to allow more room for the mouse.

One more. Now, this could just be my one with this, but I'll bring it up anyway.

When playing a game that requires WASD to move, using the Nostromo becomes a pain. Often it'll stop registering that the key has been pressed. Countless times I've been trying to quickly escape from somewhere and I just stop moving because my Nostromo decides it doesn't want me to hold down W anymore and just stops.

Well, that sounds like a pretty big problem. Thanks for letting me know.
