I reckon op has found a pair and broken them in. It's been 5 years.Always purchased Goliath safety boots - take a bit of breaking in, but worth it down the line. Have tried others, but find Goliath's never let me down. Will probably buy another pair of these in next few months - https://www.graniteworkwear.com/p_189_goliath-sdr15csi-safety-boots

Go here and look for the "Swat 1860" model - http://www.gladstoneboots.com/acatalog/S.W.A.T._Boots.html
Its like wearing a pair of trainers. They also do a lower cut version called the 1261 model.
Doc martins.
I gave up torturing my feet with cheap safety boots years ago and just bit the bullet.
I wear a pair of Dickies like these :

Surprisingly comfy, slightly heavy due to steel toes / soles, but have a nice warm thinsulate lining![]()

Wish i could say the same as they cost me a fortune..To be fair I rarely get to go on site now so a pair will probably last until retirement![]()
