Comfortable viewing distance?

I'm curious to know What is your personal comfortable viewing distance from your eyes to your computer monitor when reading text, viewing web pages watching videos, playing games for extended or short periods?.My computer monitor is full HD 1080 (1920x1080) the panel size is 23 inches (diagonal). If i'm reading or watching videos (videos in small windows like on youtube) i can sit comfortably in my chair at my pc desk with my eyes at a distance of 16 inches from my monitor. If i play games in full screen then my natural personal comfortable viewing distance is 3ft to 4ft and it's the same viewing distance when gaming on the same screen playing PS4 games.I say natural because this is what i automatically adjusted to before reading any view distance charts, interestingly one view distant calculation suggested "For 1080p (1920×1080) resolution, you must sit 3ft feet or closer for full benefit". Also, i tested a 32 inch lcd tv on my pc desk but the tv size itself was just too big to sit close to, at 8 ft away hung on the wall the 32 inch tv was comfortable viewing.
