Coming into some money

Unless you're playing Metro 2033 and have a hardon for 16x AA, don't upgrade your 5870. Your system is perfectly fine- get a driving wheel if you must, a nice bed (£600 spent on a good bed is not a waste of money) and some new clothes or penis enlargement or something to attract the ladies.

Either that, or get a lifesize model of a stormtrooper. That's awesome.

im not 500 quid crazy. and my bed needs to be a single as my room isnt big enough for a double :( ill tell everyone what i got laters.

Trust me if you move out, you'll want a double! Sack having to buy a double after I moved out! I could barely afford it.

Why not get the 3 dell screens, and the G27?

Im using 3 23" dell monitors on a single 5870 and I havent had to sacrifice that much in terms of game quality yet because of the card struggling.. You'll be surprised at how well it copes!

I think you can easily get another year out of your system as it stands.

I suggest doing nothing, because one year from now you'll need:
- New graphics card
- New power supply
- New case
- And probably an SSD upgrade
- But your existing kit won't be useless, you could probably sell it
- So you may as well get a new mobo
- and CPU
- and RAM
- Essentially... a whole new PC

but wait a year

We will see guys we will see, i dont think i will "need" to upgrade next year, my pc plays everything i throw at it Max @ 1080p so :S it will probably continue to do so.

I was in the same situation recently....got a £2000 tax free bonus from work.

I was about to ***** it on a massive upgrade but I ended up banking it for the time being

Stick the money in an ISA for a year so you wont be so tempted to touch it, then upgrade early next year to an Intel socket 2011 system.

GTX 590's will be affordable by then :D :D

Your current system will see you fine until then (and beyond tbh)

Seriously are you looking to spend it on a PC just because the money is burning a hole in your pocket.

Yes, I work for OcUK and have targets etc, but I don't see the point in buying for the sake of it.

if you read the OP i wasn't specifically looking to upgrade my system, it performs well enough. i was just thinking that a 6970 and a G27 and other irl stuff would be good choices.

its not thats its burning a hole. but the money i will be getting is just a bonus per say, and i want to splurge it on something. like the stuff ive just said :)
