Since the debut of the original RAVEN RV01 in 2008, the RAVEN team demonstrated at Silverstone many times as it can truly define and meet the expectations of computer enthusiasts with regard to the capabilities of a powerful PC in form and function. For 2014, the team set a new objective: Exceeding and transformation of the SFF (Small Form Factor) Landscape with another groundbreaking housing design. The result of this effort is a new range of housing products named RAVEN Z. The first model, the RVZ01 lifts completely from all previous small form factor case from Silverstone from. Will you be getting the ML07 in as well? Its the same case but with metal and not designed by teenagers.

+1 for the ML07 too. Either way the internal structure of both cases are great for media pcs and dedicated steam machines.

ML07 is said to be released Q2 where as the the RVZ01 is Q1

Price is great too! a lot less than I expected.

Man I should stop looking at things on the internet making me want to spend money.
That ML07 case would be awesome in a living room running an i5 and a 780ti.
Just add a wireless game pad and there's your next gen console replacement.

Only fly in the ointment for me is the slim slot-loading drive. It does look much better than a tray, but slim slot-loading blu-ray drives are ridiculously expensive (£110+).

Not true. Hit up the auction site or practice your Google Fu. I grabbed an older 2x slot-load BD-ROM for £20, and something a bit newer for around £40. Yes, brand new drives can go for £80+ but I personally never had problems with refurbs or 2nd hand units.

Touch wood ;)

That's good to know! I will have another look. All I'd seen so far cheaper than £100 was drives taken out of laptops, and I wasn't sure if they would do.

The only thing you need to keep an eye out for is SATA or IDE interfaces. You can get laptop IDE to standard SATA adapters, but that's more money to spend when you're trying to save it!

Competitors who have the case listed have also pumped the price up. Has Silverstone changed their mind on pricing, or is there a supply chain issue inflating the cost?

At £50 I was so torn to move away from my Sugo SG05, at £70 I know I'm staying.

Pricing in Hong Kong is near the 250D mark too. Maybe Silverstone pricing this a bit higher because of the 250D pricing?

I know I'd rather the 250D if they're both similarly priced but neither quite trump the Prodigy IMO.

Raven - 14 litres
Prodigy - 36 litres
250D - 28 litres
Fractal Define Mini (MATX) - 40 litres
330R (ATX) - 50 litres

The Prodigy is the size of MATX case and is only 'small form factor' in comparison to a full tower. The 250D is smaller but still twice the volume of the Raven.

If you are after a genuinely small factor case the Raven seems like an excellent choice to me.
