Not usually one for counting my chickens and all that but it looks like Edifier will be back in the fold for Christmas.

Looking at stocking the R1600T III and the R1800T III Plus a few other new lines to brighten up our offering in 2.1 and 5.1

As soon as I have dates confirmed I will list more information :)

OOOH! That's my amp and speaker efforts put on hold then - those beauties are FRONT PORTED - I AM WANT NOW! :)

I see an R1800T III in my not too distant future :D

Currently I have to place two volumes of manga under each of my 1600T to make it facing upward. Looks like the 1600T III/1800T III have addressed this issue, and from the look of it, the slightly lacking in bass issue as well.

yes I'm quite happy just waiting for the disti to set me up with an account and the order will be placed. Once they confirm an ETA i will list for PRE-Orders. I understand it's a 10 week lead time so to get them by end of November the Disti needs to move quick so hopefully we'll get on this.

Good to hear.

No idea why they discontinued the R1600T, the price point was awesome. Maybe that was the reason, too thin margins.

will be stocking a 980T 1280T 1600T III 1800TIII

with the 980T being closest to the current 1600T on power but cheaper.

1280T matching the 1600T on price but being a bit better

the 1600T III smoking the old one in design power and price expect an rrp of around £90 i think. A bit high but you are getting a lot more speaker for your money :/ 30W per speaker up from 16W a front facing bass port upward tilting design a remote and controls that aren't on the back.

I'll let you know but for now i've put an order in for 75 50 40 30 betting the cheap 980T will be most poprular for christmas as it's small and will come in under £50 with only a few watts per channel less than the 1600T that are EOL.

There will be deals at christmas too.

What is the price of the 1800TIII going to be? Also will it be noticably better than the 1600TIII and justify the likely higher price tag?

Also is there going to be a 1900TIII?

1800T III are a UK exclusive to OcUK till feburary or march.

they will be like the 1600T III in black.

I should get pricing tomorrow when i have a meeting with edifier here in the office

Is there a rough time frame for when you expect stock to be available?

A good set of monitor quality speakers is about the only upgrade I can think of doing (apart from a new keyboard..maybe)

I was told November but last conversation suggested end of October meeting tomorrow so i will set up products and do ETA's tomorrow.

At the moment I am using the Creative T40 II 2.0 speakers when I'm using my PC for general usage instead watching movies on my TV with my 5.1 setup, so the T40 II is the weakest link when I am just using my computer, so looking at upgrading it to something better.

price of the 1800 will be 89.99 msrp but I will do a pre-order run at 79.99 when I get an ETA

Sounds good to me. Now I just need to spot the pre order time.

Think its worth connecting up a sub at the same time? Seen people saying the LOW bass response is still not great.
Will have the one from my x540's sitting around (25w down firing, front ported), or was thinking of buying one specifically for it, if I end up wanting it.

It might be depends how much you love that low bass.

I will link a pre-order thread from latest news and deals when i do it so just be on the forums :)

Cool. Will wait till they arrive and test out both options. Purely because I haven't been without a sub for so long it worries me, although it will most likely not be needed as I am no teenager needing face melting bass.

I expected no less ;)

Just set up my R1800Tiii that the other half got me for xmas.
Coming from logitech x540

Why did I not get some proper speakers earlier? Why did I get sucked into 5.21 for so long?
These are like, infinitely better for sound space and depth. Music, TV, gaming. It all sounds better. Not sure about surround, but I have a headset for gaming so it doesn't even matter.

TWST I thank you, and others, for your help in making me decide to get these, they sound excellent being driven by my Xonar u7, even if it is only a run of the mill soundcard. In a few years I will probably be back asking you what to get in the way of a passive set up once I decide to start shelling out proper money on sound components.

And no, I have not tested the sub from my logitechs with them. With them set at 0 bass and treble they sound perfect, at least compared to my logitechs lol.
