Hi all,

Couldnt find a ZH discussion so thought id start one....

So whats your favourite team to play as? I havent played as them all yet, but the lazer general seemed really good.

Also, does anyone have any good mods or maps for this?

Hmm. Refresh my memory, is ZH the C&C with China, America etc. If it is the one i'm thinking about then it would have too be China (The Nuke General or something).
 
I like to play as either Super Weapon General or Air Force General. Although I do like the GDA but as soon as your enemy has established themselves it is very hard to win!

I used to play with a mate on the net. I'd be the laser general and at the start I'd send over the dozer and build me base in his. Then, I'd literally build billions of laser turrets in his base. We were invincible.

lol nice. I was amazed how good the Avengers and lazer turrets are. Had a front line of them and no planes could get past, even the really quick A-10 airstrike couldnt get past.
 
I really liked playing as the China infantry general, you dont have any tanks worth mentioning but the troop carrier is built with 8 gunners inside and they all carry a chain gun of sorts, really powerfull. Great for rushing their base at the start but if you are playing against an American side, one of their humvee's full of snipers can really make you look silly.
For base defense though the American super weapon general has great turrets (against vehicles at least) which are EMP Patriot missiles so one hit knocks the enemy vehicle offline for a while which gives you time to destroy them. 1 hit also downs any aircraft.

Youv'e put me in the mood for a game now :D

Are you guys all patched up? Ive only played over lan so Im on the base install versions?
 
The last time I played it, the USA Airforce general, GLA Demo/Toxin generals and Chinese Infantry general were the best. The other generals were pretty much obsolete apart from the USA superweapon general which was frequently banned from games as it had the ridiculous Fuel Air Bomb Aurora.

I usually played Infantry general as they had the had cloaked hackers which produced more money than usual and those silly minigunners that could should down fighter jets. :D That said my favourite was the tank general. Demolishing a base with a squad of emperor tanks and ECMs to deflect the missles was just the most satisfying way to end the game; unfortunately it was usually impossible to do without getting rushed first. :(

I will need to patch up as had issues playing the basic version before as it had crash issues for me.

Yeah as far as i know im all patched up.
I cant play tonight though, i have a couple of matches with my cs:s clan tonight.
And I totally suck online too, I always get slaughtered when playing online, apart from when i play against my brother (and i hope he doesnt mind me saying this ) because he sucks as much as i do :D
 
I always used the Tank General. Was never particularly good (got owned online)
But driving straight through bases crushing everything with 10+ Emperer Overlords is so much fun :)
 
You guys should try a mod called progen, it balances it up really well. Nothing silly, just things that were sposed to be in the game originally but were taken out for random reasons. You can get it from www.deezire.net

Does this add ships and subs by any chance? I really do miss them from red alert. I was gutted to see there were no controllable ships in this game, espeacially that most of the box art had ships and air craft carriers featured in them.
