Command and Conquer style game for LAN?

My friend and I used to enjoy playing C&C Generals on a LAN, however we got bored of it and could never find anything to replace it.

Does anyone know of any games that would suit? He has an aging Dell laptop so nothing too demanding.

Does anyone know of any games that would suit? He has an aging Dell laptop so nothing too demanding.

There's a LAN bug so unfortunately Generals lags up to a halt after 30 minutes or so. How did you manage to play this?
