Command & Conquer and Red Alert

Just get First Decade. It's got ALL the good C&C games on it.

Don't bother with C&C3/RA3, C&C3 was alright but not worth the money, RA3 was a heap of trash and an utter abomination.
 
Tiberium Universe more fun for me, better gameplay etc.

C&C 3 is quite good but a little too Hollywoodised. The gameplay is quite fun and the looks also when on full.
 
As above get The first decade for ra2+exp at least. But there should be demos about for CnC3 and RA3 about, so dont shoot them down before trying as ra3 multi can be quite fun... just not as fun as generals or ra2.
 
Red Alert 2 + Yuris Revenge is easily the best C&C game dont even want to think how many hours i put into those games :D
 
First Decade is a good pack to get if you're new to the franchise. As mentioned Red Alert 2 is a good place to start; personally I found the games older than Tiberium Sun (original c&c/RA + expansions) to be too dated to play these days.

In my opinion you should get these:

Command & Conquer Generals
Command & Conquer Zero Hour (Expansion Pack)
Command & Conquer Red Alert 2
Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge (Expansion Pack)
Command & Conquer 3
Command & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath (Expansion Pack)

These should keep you amused for quite a while and they are all great games. Don't go with Red Alert 3 because, like a few others have said, It's an absolute steaming pile of ****. :)

If it were me personally and I could only go for one then I'd choose Command & Conquer 3, purely because of the awesome cutscenes which I think are shot in HD, the great graphics and sound, and the good multiplayer. Plus, who doesn't love Kane?! :D

Also Red Alert 1/2 + YT and Generals / ZH are by far the most exciting ones to play, rest are average at best.
 
RA is one of my favourite games ever. It's so dated now though, it'd be pretty painful to play if you didn't have the nostalgia to keep you interested.

RA2 + Yuri's Revenge is definitely worth a shot though.
 
sorry to revive a thread, but just wondering if red alert 3 is worth playing yet? seeing as its been patched up, people releasing mods etc!
