Command & Conquer

The hours i spent on red alert on the PSone link up'd at a friends house!

Also when Tiberium wars brought the moving gates and search lights and everyone lost their minds. :D

Some more I missed ^

Must admit it puts Westwood in a slightly different light after watching, but it still did go to pot after EA took over but it was not all EA's fault. Lots of awful games

ahhh I still plasy generals, didnt much care for the most recent attempt, got to try the alpha and they sacked all the staff for not getting it right, all they had to do was remove the "League of legends - free to play style" rubbish and it would still be good

You can get C&C for free now. It looks terrabad on a modern monitor though! :D

But for me, Generals is where it was at. I have played them all over the years but Generals just seemed to be the pinnacle for me.

Everything since has been a bit of a let down :(

That said, Tiberian Sun was OK, as were the red alert titles. But I just found those a bit too cartoony.

I find Westwood's view of the future world to be eerily prophetic too. Wars would not be between nations but against the west and 'terrorists'.

My mantra for all C&C games is "You can never have too many tanks!" :p

A remake/regen of the original C&C would be epic in a modern day engine. Like you say, If there was a kickstarter, I'd back it :)

Westwood were ambitious who could blame them. Other than old ubisoft they're my favourite devs by far. I actually enjoyed renegade :D.

I can't believe how many titles they had Id never heard of .

This series should be renamed to 'a lesson to anyone thinking of selling to EA'.

Used to love running trainers in skirmish and unleashing 100+ mammoth mk ii on the enemy :D.

Or running a 5vme skirmish all bots on highest and me just becoming the biggest turtle in the world so many lines of defense.

Red Alert was the best for me.

Red Alert 2, C&C3 and Generals were also all good fun, even though Generals should have missed C&C off the title. I never much cared for Tiberian Sun, though if you use the Dawn of Tiberium Age mod with it, then it turns into what it should have been (C&C on TS engine).

C&C4 was terrible, Red Alert 3 had coop missions, but Skirmish & Multiplayer were also terrible.

I'd love to see a HD update for Red Alert and Red Alert 2. I still play it occasionally, but it looks a bit rough now.

I would love a remake of Dune 2... or just a new Dune RTS game.

I'm not sure you would to be honest. I thought the same about a C&C 1 reboot.

Then I thought hell no, not with how todays games are developed!!

I ain't gonna get the game to find out it is a glorified iPad game that only allows you to get past the 2nd level once you have spent £50 in microtransactions! :p

Hell, knowing how things are these days - everything you build will be a microtransaction every time you build it!

Many hours were spent on Red Alert. I'd enjoy making 50 or so Light Tanks when I ganged on an enemy AI just to hear the "pitchoo" gun sound go off every nano second, with a load of the artillary with its echo-y gun sound. I was 8 years old but hey simple things, right?

I miss the incredibly campy fmvs between the levels. They knew how ridiculous they were and reveled in it.

Also, hellmarch.

I don't understand why remakes of some of the old classic games havent been done before now.. Surely a new command and conquer, theme hospital et al. would be big sellers. Allot of the games out these days don't seem to interest me now. A modernised C&C with more depth but the same base idea would be brilliant.
