I was looking through my game collection today and came across commandos, i loved this game was great. i just done a quick google and found Commandos 3: Destination Berlin. which was released in 2003. Is there any other commandos thats more upto date and worth buying? would i be dissapointed with Commandos 3: Destination Berlin compared to the 1st 1?

Hi,

I really can honestly say I enjoyed it. Athough it is quite short it has many good features, providing you can cope with the occasional annoying camera angle when inside buildings. If you can find a few other poor souls to play multiplayer, it can be quite funny if a little limited.

Once you get used to it, it isn't all that hard and you probably won't resort to just shooting every german you see. I'd give it 7/10.

I don't think there is a newer one, but I could be wrong.
 
Commandos Strike Force is the latest but it's nothing like Commandos its like a FPS :rolleyes:
 
Commandoes 2 was the best of the serious imho

#3 only works at 640*480 for some reason and generally sucks :(
not sure about the latest one, the FPS stylee one.
 
The biggest gripe about Commandos 3 was they removed all the hotkeys for the various commando actions, you had to use the mosue icons or nothing. This made nanosecond timing prety damn hard. Apart from that it was ok, not as good as 2 though. I was recently looking at getting Desparados and that Robin Hood game as they look of the same ilk as Commandoes, and they are on budget now. Anyone know if they are any good?

I hated the 3rd. Mainly for the lack of co-op - me and my bro played and completed Commandos 2 together and it made it FAR more enjoyable. Not being able to do this with the 3rd just put me off, and I never really tried engaging in it.

Commandos 3 seemed like a rushed title to me - maps were tiny and not very involving. Get commandos 2 - its a brilliant game and far better than the third title
 
cheers for the offer mate but i asked a few of my mates and managed to nab there copy off it :D

will have to give it a go later hopefully keep me busy for a couple days

Commandos was a great game. Remember playing that on my 300mhz compaq presario. I recently installed it on my super fast computer and the game is far too fast. lol
 
Commandos was quite possibly the first 'proper' game that I ever played all the way through on the PC.

Really was a great game!

I did enjoy Commandos 3 but there were a few very annoying missions
 
I reckon Commandos was also responsible for the smuggest sounding voice in computer game history. I'm refering to the ultra snooty "Yeers?" said by the sniper when you clicked on him.
