Hiya all.

Im running a GTX 280 under water at 700 core / 1506 shader & 1200 memory. It is running really well. After reading around on the net im not sure if I should have it clocked this high! Can anybody help please? I dont want to damage the card! Max temp it reached was 47 degrees but like I said that was under water running vantage at 1650 x 1080

Cheers

You got nothing to worry about with those temp. High core speed doesn't really damage the GPU, but high temp does. Don't think you would damage it unless you overvolt it like a lunatic. If anything you can push the GTX280 even further.

Highest i ever got on mine was 714/1504/1251, xfx 640mhz core clocked version, stock air cooling.

Yes you might get higher clocks by overvolting it, but given you've had to ask the question I'd recommend you steer clear of it for the time being until you've done a bit more research, adjusting voltage on video cards isn't something to jump into lightly.

I gave mine a tiny core voltage increase from 1187mv to 1200 to get 700mhz stable on air.

Seeing as you are underwater you are fine:)

Cheers guys. Im not to keen on the voltage change as its all new to me. Im just going to stick with what i have now i think. May possibly try and find another cheap card for sli

Well after some playing tonight ive got it stable in furmark running at 715/1500/1250

Max temps after 20 minutes was 51 degrees. This is fine right??

Those temps are fine, my 2 gtx 275's idle at those sort of temps, shows how much difference water can make.

Aye, great card Chris, i thought about a 5850/5870, couldnt afford it, sli 275's was the cheaper option, very lucky to find a card with the exact same clocks as my own second hand, i prefer using identical cards in sli, really pleased with it mate.
