Comments and critique on my website please

Hi all,

Over the last couple of months on and off ive been designing a website in my spare time. It can be found at www.edwardcasbon.com.

It isnt complete yet. I am using this to practice and enhance my skills in xhtml, css, php, mysql etc.

Please could you take a look at the site and tell me what you think?

Im open to any comments so please, dont hold back.

The first point I'm going to make is that it's a nice looking website, but a thing to consider with that is that it's lacking in originality big time, it looks like a wordpress theme to me. I like the fact there are styles to chose from although think seriously; is anyone going to bother when they're hidden away down there? I only just noticed them, and tbh it wasn't much of a revelation using it.

Great site for general use but lacks originality/"pop" (harib0's word)

As the guys have said, it's nice and accessible but a little lacking in originality of design. Personally I think the 'simple' theme should be the default one as it's far nicer than 'dark'.
