So guys what do you think of the following spec? I haven't decided on a graphics card yet, want to wait for the R600's to be released.

Spec:

Intel Core 2 DUO E6300

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C3

Gigabyte GA 965P-DS3P

Enter Graphics Card here.

Corsair HX 520W

Coolermaster Centurion 534 Silver (Have to get this case due to size requirements)

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 PRO

Windows Vista Home Premimun 64Bit OEM

250 Gb Western Digital WD2500KS Caviar SE16, SATA300, 7200 rpm, 16MB Cache, 8.9 ms

I'm obviously buying the E6300 to overclock, do you think the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 PRO will be sufficient? I’m not looking for anything over 3GHz.

Looks like he already chose the Freezer 7 Pro...

As for the GPU...it depends which resolutions you run and what kinds of games you play.

Personally, I'd get the 8800GTX if I could afford it right now...waiting for the R600 might suit you as well...I'm going to wait and see how it stacks up against the nvidia cards price/performancewise.

Yes, like I said in the above post "I'm obviously buying the E6300 to overclock, do you think the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 PRO will be sufficient? I’m not looking for anything over 3GHz."

Games at 1280x1024 with everything Maxed out would hopefully be able for this system.

The 8800GTS 640mb is a good choice then.

I don't know too much about Ram but that does seem rather pricey, might you be better with some PC6400 like the Team Xtreem PC6400 which uses Micron chips and is cheaper although not Cas3? The Crucial may as well but you would have to be running it further out of specification to get 3ghz. :)

The perfect spec if you ask me. :)

The Crucial Ballistix is fantstic RAM, capable of speeds far exceeding those of standard PC6400 ram.

If you look around you can find the Ballistix PC26400 2Gb kit for a resaonable price. Also it will boot up at 1.8v which is what most mobos will attempt to run the RAM at default.
