Hey everyone

I'm planning on purchasing the following components within the next few days and wanted opinions on the combination:

Intel Q6600 G0 CPU
Asus P5K mobo
ATI HD 2900Pro
Artic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro
Arctic Silver 5 paste
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400C4 (2 of these for 4GB total)

All of these will be running in an Antec P160 case, with an Antec NeoHE 550w PSU, and a WD Raptor as the main boot OS drive.

Can anyone see any possible issues or have any comments on this selection before I buy? Any suggestions will be greatly welcomed and appreciated :)

Thanks

If you were buying the Arctic Freezer 7 then you don't need the AS5 because it comes with MX-1 paste pre-applied, if you take hp7909s advice (and it is good advice) then you do need the AS5.

Other than that it looks fine. :)

I had selected the Arctic Cooler simply because I already have one on my Athlon 64 and know it will fit ok in my case unless there is a massive size difference. The others I'm not so sure of, the Antec P160 isn't a very wide case. I know a lot of people have said the Tuniq is a good option but it just seems to be a massive HSF and I wasn't 100% sure whether or not it would fit in my case. Any other suggestions on the HSF front if space is an issue but moving away from the Arctic Cooler?

Recommend you have tube around. Made a mess installing mine & had to reapply :( Basically if you need to re-seat, etc a HSF you need to wipe-off & apply some fresh gunk.

The P160 is quite a large case even by today's standards*. Don't see why a Tuniq would not fit in there :)

EDIT: *even larger than the Nine Hundred (here & here)

Yeah I'm gonna go for the Tuniq. Anyone know whether the connectors on my PSU (NeoHE 550) will be suitable for a 2900 Pro? Also, is the P5K a decent board and can I expect good results from overclocking on it or should I be looking at something better?

Thanks for all the help so far :)
