have not built a machine for 2 years now so after trawling through a lot of the "spec me" threads I came up with this for myself.

Hows it look? Appreciate your help!

Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 2048MB GDDR5 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail

Asus P5Q Premium Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

OCZ EliteXStream 800w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply

Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x2GB) Supplied with

Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g)

PSU is overshooting, those components will have hard time in reaching 400W peak draw.

Raptors are small in capacity but if that's enough Velociraptor is about fastest "desktop" drive.

I'd get a 1TB Samsung F1 instead of the WD.

And if you need a 800W PSU, get the one as in my sig. Modular, utterly silent, and with a 3 year guarantee.

Pay the extra and get the HAF 932. But I would say that! :) (Great case, btw)

Thanks for the responses...

I'll probably end up getting this fan Noctua NH-U12P CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/LGA775) in the end - hope to try overclocking at one point !!!

Interesting about the PSU, just picked the wattage out of no where :) will drop that down to 700 instead.

The HD I like the sound of so i'm sticking to that - got plenty of storage space...

This is a great forum by the way! Cheers
