Commission for building websites

Does anyone have any experience/indicative charges for this ?

The scenario is one company gives you a task of building a website

They charge hundreds (rather than thousands) - what is a reasonable "cut" for building it ?

You charge whatever you feel the work is worth and let them worry about adding commissions on top.

Doing it the other way around by letting them decide the price first and you getting a % is always going to leave you underpaid and overworked.

If you work as a broker so it's your right to charge some %. like 40% is reasonable
